Real Simple No Time To Cook? App Reviews

Crashes every time!

And it just automatically recharged me for my subscription. Beyond irritating!!

Horrible

When you try to get a recipe it says no results. Whats the point of the app if theres nothing to cook.

Great recipes, app need improvements

I am not having the crashing issues that others are. Its working as expected. I love every recipe Ive tried from here. The app would get more stars with a few revisions. 1. Allow for recipe scaling. I have a family of 6, not 4. 2. In shopping lists, combine like ingredients. For example, if I need 4 chicken breasts for one recipe and 3 for another, combine them into 7 breasts on the list. 3. Connect to email is great, but try connecting to a listing app such as Keep so that I can check off items as I buy them. 4. When I added new recipes to my shopping list and there was already one on there (left from last weeks list), I had to deleted the one recipe, close the app and restart it to see the new ones. They were marked on the recipe page as added to shopping list.

Such a Waste

Do a search for seafood recipes (I have shrimp), Im given 5 recipes none of which are for shrimp. So sad, expected more from Real Simple, love my cookbook. It Could be a great app...

Real simple no time to cook

I paid 9.99 after installing this app and now it will not even open....frustrating!

Crashing and cant even open the app

Also there is something wrong with the search option? Ive used this app for a few months and it is pretty good for planning meals that take no time to prep. We saved money on our food shops with this type of planning but we can no longer use the app... What gives?

Not really free

This app says its free but in order to unlock more than five or so recipes in each category, you have to buy it. Personally, I dont want to buy something unless I know i will use it fervently. So I deleted it. It looked fun though if you like to chance your app purchases.

Not free

7.99 a year ! Say what it really is cheap , I like honesty .

Great app

I use this app several times a week every week. Several recipes have become staples and it is well worth the price. If you want fast, healthy recipes with real unprocessed food you can do no better.

Not really a free app.

Bait and switch! Not really a free app. You cant use most of the functions unless you pay. If youre going to make a pay-for-use app, call it that.

Great recipes Absolutely NO customer support

When it works ( which is not very often) this this app is really great. Its a great idea and the recipes are really good. But it crashes at least once or twice A Week! And the numbers they give for customer support us the main number for the magazine and they have absolutely NO CLUE as to what the app even is. I paid the full year subscription and no one knows anything about it never mind any assistance. Too bad. Great idea.

NOT ABLE TO STOP PAYMENT

I foolishly clicked and was signed up to pay 99cents per month for the app. I cannot find any means to stop this payment. I have written to the company and they directed me to iTunes. Here I am with still no answer how to stop this monthly withdrawal from my account.

Best recipes ever!

This app has changed the way we eat, no more fast food! The recipes taste gourmet, easy to prepare, simple ingredients, each one has been delicious and healthy. I use it every week and my family thinks I have become a gourmet cook! And the grocery lists are great, makes planning for the week easy. Thank you to whoever made this!!!!!

Thumbs down

There are only about 10 free recipes available through the app. You are required to purchase a subscription to access more than that. Stick to apps like Food Network that has a ton of recipes and its free!

Was Great Is Now Useless

I bought this app for 2 or $3.99 (?) a few hrs ago and LOVED it. Used it all the time. Suddenly to get any content I have to pay more and subscribe monthly or annually. So what was once great and useful is now USELESS. A big bummer as Im a fan of real simple everything. This feels like a decision made by a newcomer to the company trying to make their mark. Why change the model of an existing app? Why not just launch a bigger better DIFFERENT one. Bad choice.

Waste of $

Too bad, I wanted to like it! The app does have or had an attractive interface which was extremely user friendly. Problem is the app does not have much more than a handful of recipes in each category to use or see and when I was going to pay $2.99 to access more recipes, the app crashed. I am grateful for the money saving crash timing the app has.

Bring back the old app!

I dont see to use this app ALL the time...it had great recipes. But now it tells me I have to subscribe, even though I paid $4.99 when I first got it. This is a bait and switch and I would not recommend it. Stick with a free app like Food Network instead. I love Real Simple but this is a rip off.

Why change the app

I dont want "real simple" to choose my meals for the week. I like that I can pick what I have on hand and make what I have already bought at the grocery store. If I wanted someone to meal plan for me I wouldve gotten an app that would do that!!!
